Best 8" or 10" tablet running Windows?

I'm looking for a new small tablet that I can use for work. It just needs to run Excel really, maybe some Word editing also. I don't mind if it runs Windows Mobile or Windows Home/Pro. Any good ones out there?

I have a Surface Pro 3, and will probably buy a Surface 5, but just after something a little smaller too.

Not a powerhouse but it should definitely be able to run Word and Excel without a problem.

How much do the cheapest surface 3s run? And to the op have u looked at the HP pavilion x2 or the ausus t100?

I choose the Surface 3. It's no speed demon, but I can hold it on 1 hand comfortably. If I need a larger screen I can use my 13" laptop.

I went and looked at the all yesterday the surface 3 , hp pavilion , and the Asus t100 ha

I think I'm going to cross the HP off my list seeing since there's no rear camera and even after I restarted it ir had a few hiccups.

The Asus was nice I believe it was $299 in the Microsoft store and I loved the keyboard attachment

The surface is definitely way nicer but I don't like the keyboard attachment or the kickstand it definitely has a more premium feel. And $100 more.

I've read it takes the surface forever to charge tho is this true?

The HP Envy 8 does have a rear camera. I picked one up last week from the MS Store.

If you use the included charger it doesn't take forever. It does take longer than my Surface RT. The Surface 3 uses micro USB, which limits charging speed. I bought mine used from Swappa.com. The only downside of buying it used is you can never be sure what you'll actually get. In my case I had to spend $50 to buy a Windows Product Key. For some reason the product key that was associated with the tablet got wiped out when the tablet was hard reset.

For 10'' screen probably Surface 3 is better.
For 8'' not a single one tablet out there as good as it should be.
I bought Dell new Venue 8 Pro and have problems with it. 2-3 hours of battery live, awful WiFi on 5ghz, 128Gb SD card does not work. Now imagine how many problems you will get if you decide to buy cheap Chinese tablets

For 8" ones both Dell Venue 8Pro or Asus Vivotab Note 8 are good. especially Asus one, that also including GPS GNSS sensor in, so you can use it offline map for navigation on the road. and for the pen input , both have issues but I prefer Asus again simply the pen is included, and use Wacom , and if you buy a better build Wacom pen then the input will function much better.
