Better Facebook and Twitter Integration?

I really hope WP8 has better Facebook and Twitter integration.

For example (integrated):

  • Twitter photos in the People feed open the browser but they don't for Facebook
  • You can't view, get notified or responding to Twitter and Facebook direct messages
  • Can't view or respond to Facebook events
  • Twitter can't search hashtags
  • Can't follow or unfollow people on Twitter
  • Can't add or unfriend people on Facebook
  • Can't delete comments or posts

I know some of these I can live without, but I would like to see some improvements.

You can get Facebook messages in the messaging hub and you can view and respond to events in the calendar because I do it all the time. Features can only be added accordingly to whatever the APIs allow.

I am aware of the API issue, but I would hope since Microsoft owns part of Facebook that they could come up with some type of agreement. The integration feels incomplete and I don't want to have to use 2 different apps to accomplish something.

Also all the 3rd party Twitter apps can do what I listed above.

Currently facebook messages are a disaster. Facebook chat and "send a message" don't always come to my windows phone messaging hub.

Also, there are a few basics that are missing that would make WP feel more premium:
  • Liking photos
  • Liking comments
  • Pre-download feeds and notifications

I hope they improve the integration, i like how i can switch between fb and twitter just to read updates, but the ability to do anything is limited. I hope they get as many functions as possible in the integration, if they can.

You actually can like photos in the people hub. When you see the picture in the hub hit the + on the side instead of the picture. Definitely not the best way to implement this feature

I doubt anyone of you use it, but on Windows Messenger, you have Facebook integration and the layout is freaking fantastic. The one on the people hub is boring.

I forgot to add a they need to add a much better conversion view for Twitter in the notification menu. Half the time I can't tell what someone is replying too unless I use a 3rd party app.

Facebook and Twitter both are nice social networking sites. According to me Facebook is better than twitter. I am using smart android phone which support so many social networking sites. I am daily access facebook using my smartphone.

Well I for one can live without any Facebook or Twitter integration, as I just don't see the point of having it, I would like to see a way for it to be removed or disabled just like I did on my Nokia N8 (I removed the social app when I got the phone). However I have noticed all current phone have some sort of social integration either as part of the operating system or through apps, but I still say it should be an option and not forced on those who don't want or need it.

PS I did have a Facebook account many years ago however I never really used it as I couldn't be bothered so I cancelled it and have never even considered opening a new account just for the sake of it.

Yes, the integration is a fantastic id?a and needs to improved.
I'l quote what I just posted in another thread...

This is so true.
MS need to decide, no, they need to realize what they have going and follow through... if they want something integrated then fully integrate it with all features, otherwise its useless.
The native integration for facebook is awesome and all of my friends who has seen it loves it and the fact that its there by default. But when you have to use the app for full features the integration suddenly doesnt matter anymore, most people will get confused.
I often have to launch the app from the people hub because it lacks features, schizoprenia. Why not only use the app? Well the people hub is faster and looks better imo.

Wait, so they're making SMART android phones now?
