Better looking WP keyboard

I think the keyboard should be shorter in length from top to bottom. Ever type something in a box on certain forums or apps only for the keyboard to block the view? I see that often...

Compared to IOS/Android WP KB is superb in look wise. Further compacting the KB will lead to lapping the chars while typing

an option hidden somewhere (so regular users would not accidently turn off) to turn off word prediction/correction box would be neat.

Personally, I rarely use it, I imagine I am not alone.

Otherwise, they keyboard is great. I don't see a reason to change the spacing/etc to conform to the needs of a few people unless does research on if what they suggest is better for the majority of people.

Of course, I would not mind if they added other keyboard layouts :)

Overall, I like the WP Keyboard with one exception... I'd love to have left/right arrow keys for moving the cursor without having to mess with moving the cursor up in the text, which i understand is even different on 8.1 than currently on 8. I know some people hate this idea, but it's something I've sorely missed since having to switch to these virtual keyboards instead of physical slider keyboards.

Something like this would be nice :) It's not perfect as the space bar is pretty small, but no solution is going to be perfect on screen. Even if arrow keys were available on landscape mode, and went away in portrait mode, I'd be happy!

I just want to be able to type without hitting B or ENTER when I intend on hitting the spacebar. It'd also be nice if the phone could figure out what "going outbtonight" meant "going out tonight" without me having to go back and delete the B.

That's how I type on Nexus 7. I'm hitting 'b's non stop, instead of space. Rarely have this problem on WP.

Moving a cursor was perfect in WP8, in 8.1 I still don't know how exactly it's supposed to work!

I don't get this issue ever on my Lumia 630. But I get it all the damn time on my iPhone - so much so that Apple had to add code into their keyboard to spot "outbtonight" etc in iOS7. Before that, it used to drive me nuts.

The Windows Phone Keyboard is the best of the top 3 OS. Clearly Apple agree with me, because they are totally ripping off the Word Flow smart word suggestions in iOS8!

But I see what you mean about the individual keys being taller than they need to be, but maybe that is whats stopping me getting a load of damn b's, v's and c's in between words

Maybe you could practice NOT hitting the B every time  but I feel your pain...

Yes please! Thanks for the idea... Now, we need to push for it (or a setting to enable it buried DEEP in the settings (make it near impossible to find unless you are looking for it, so, only people who want it active it) provided that they make the cursor work like it did in W8 instead the sh*tty way it currently works... I swear... Never had problems with 8, but, 8.1 ruined it so much ><

Some of you guys may see a use for Swiftkey or Swype but personally I don't as the word flow keyboard is ace and shape writing just elevated to the next level. My only gripe is that the cursor to to move through the text can sometimes a bit fiddly especially when using my 920 with one hand. I found actually deleting the text, correcting the mistake and retyping is much quicker lol as opposed to using the cursor.

I have a 1520 and before that a 920 both with 8.1. The swipe like keyboard to me is fantastic is just wish there was is a way to do numbers the same way. That doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something?

By the way does a better looking keyboard men a better working keyboard? If not what's the point of a better looking keyboard? Just thinking

As a switcher from iOS I would actually say you should leave this keyboard "issue" at Nokia's hardware department. Why? Simple. They manufacturer all the WP phones today. The keyboard is something which is resolution and phone size dependable. A 1530 phone would fit perfect with a "20% of the screen keyboard" while the 630 would think different.

It looks clear to me. The space bar is a little small, that's my biggest issue.

As far as design, I really love it. I think the spacing is perfect. As far as color goes, yeah sure, spiff it up
