Well...since I posted above, I have ordered another BlackJack from Cingular as my backup/weekend phone (a good excuse to get another one:D )...and I am going to spend some relaxed, quality time getting aquainted with the WM5 platform...and having some "new toy" fun as well.

I'm not giving up my Treo 680. I really like it, and I am learning to enjoy it more and more each day. Battery life and stability has never been a huge issue with me, so I'm not going to blow it off in favor of the BJ. I just want a slimmer, lighter phone to slip into jeans pockets for the weekends...and have my email accounts and other functions available as well. The BlackJack fits that bill perfectly.

And, maybe I can cozy up to the WM5 OS in a more relaxed mode than I could before...and not be so damned intimidated by it. We'll see...;)

I find it humorous that the simpler device (680) has more bugs and stability issues than the more complex/powerful WM Treo.

When I sign onto Treocentral.com forums, I usually just click on the "new posts" area. When I do, I find it interesting that there are tons more new postings from people who are having issues and problems with their Treo 750's than those from people with Treo 680's. Yes, the first "run" of 680's seemed to have their fair share of issues...mostly having to do with battery-life and the "gibberish" gremlin...but most users seem to have gotten a handle on everything. Frankly, I have had zero problems with my Crimson 680 now that I have "tuned" it a little.

Well I dropped kicked my 680, not on purpose and it skipped down the driveway earlier last week. I decided to take the opportunity to get a 750 as a replacement and take full advantage of Cingular's exchange policy in hopes of getting used to WM.

I've had the 750 for the better part of three days and the more I use it, the more I like it. It's definitely a device that takes getting used to and it's world's different from my older WM PDA's.

I like the customization the 750 has, the Today screen, the 3G is kinda neat and the phone seems more clearer. I'm still getting used to shutting down programs but holding down the "ok" button pulls up the list. Battery life seems a bit better too.

I think the biggest difference is the layers the 750 has. You open one window, to get to another, to get to another. Palm seemed a little more straight forward.

I like the seamless connectivity with Outlook and Office products. Docs to Go is a nice program but I always felt weird using third party conduits. It just felt like an invitation to problems.

So far so good. I guess I've got another week before I get to the "Send it back or keep it" point.

Of course that is a bit skewed as the majority of users on TC are moving from POS to WM5 so they have a lot of "newb" questions ;)
