This is a basic bluetooth profile, but as to why Microsoft doesn't support it is anyones guess.

Basic phones that had bluetooth many years old even had this feature.

Strange why we can't transfer an image or song in todays so called WP7 Smart Phones.

But as yet, it's an unsupported bluetooth profile in WP7 berfx. :(

Since it's Microsoft, I would guess it has to do with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), which is a big thing in the U.S.. Everyone is suspect.

this is 100% copy right

BELL Mobility has been blicking that feature for YEARS NOW . cause any one can get Music on ZUNE or Itunes then send it to some one else VIA bluetooth

its like stealing music , so they started blocking it. and MS beying the copy right Nazi that they are .... thats probly why.

WM dint really have many copy right issues cause it dint have ZUNE intergration and other programes liek it .

WP is alote more secure then WM,

ZUNE alone could cause MS to block this feature.

But it's an excellent way to transfer and exchange ringtones and photos and contacts etc Zune files are DRM protected so don't see the problem.

WP7 is the first phone for me that hasn't had basic BT file transfers, even since my very first basic Nokia 10 years ago every handset i've had i could send files via bluetooth.

A strange step backwards indeed in my opinion. In fact i don't know any other handset that can't do it.

you can share the rest VIA 3g insisted of BT ( pics vids ect..) , witch is more efficient specially if your out of range.

ive never been able to share Info Via BT with bell using ALL my phones even WM ( buts that’s because of my Carrier )

And 100% of my Music on my Phone is Illegal Torrent Music witch in return would also be illegal to share VIA BT , so regarding DRM it doesn’t matter, DRM is just an other copy right thing .... BT is Generally blocking ALL sharing to prevent a work around like sharing Stolen MUSIC.

Regarding Ringtones , MOST ringtones now a day are paid ringtones . so blocking that is part of the DRM ( so you have to buy it ) or blocks your own self made ring tones via BT .

but im sure there is a way to have your phone unlock to share your OWN music , if you where a Artist/musician for example , i think i read something on MS allowing stuff for does people.

Huh? This isn't true in the states. First, who would want to share more that 1 song via BT. Sharing via Wifi/3G is more easy, so why not block that connection also. Easier ways to share music, don't see why BT sharing would be blocked.

I think MS has something screwed up. I STILL can't even listen to anything that isn't played via Zune via BT.

What I'm saying is, that If I wanted to share a song. I'll just email it to someone. He'll it would be 1000000000 times faster than sending it BT. But I'm assuming the OP just want to send a file on the fly.

I was just discussing this topic with a friend. IMHO it is a step backward, since some of the lowest end devices do not have that restriction.
