Buying an Icon Now: Is Verizon Edge a Ripoff?

I got in the edge program coming from the 928. I was waiting for the 930 but Verizon isn't getting it so I jumped in for the Icon. Its the perfect phone for me, bigger screen and fast processor. The colors choices are lame but I got a clear case to showcase the matte albino, lol.

Edge is actually cheaper for me. Only by a few dollars though. And I did downgrade my data by a gig. But I got a free promo gig so im in the same bucket but saving money. AND I can upgrade once the phone is half paid off. Sweet deal. I change phones too often so 2 year contract with initial price of phone doesnt make sense. Neither does buying a phone outright. Only small downside is if I ever want to get off of edge I have to pay off the full price of my phone. OR "Edge Up" to a new phone then return it within 14 days and cancel my plan. However if you do that your account gets a notice on it and you are not able to get on the edge plan again if you return a phone while on your edge plan. I read the fine print.

Edge is affordable for me since I have at least 10GB and got it when it was still 24 months. I am waiting for Verizon to get a windows phone phablet, because that is really what I want to edge up to from the icon.
