Camera lens without case?

I get my lumia 1520 and I have one question...does the camera glass touch a surface when you lay the phone down without a case? If it does, I'll buy a case, but if it doesn't, then I won't.

I had mine for 5 days before I got my case, and in that time the lense has picked up some light scratches, and I am super carefull.

I didn't lay mine on anything but a soft surface until I had my case.
