Camera only works intermittently

Over the last week or so when I start up the camera it gets stuck at the "Loading...." screen. When it first started it happened about every other time I started the camera, but is gradually becoming more frequent and sometimes I cant get it to work at all unless I restart the phone and even then it's not certain. The camera mechanism itself doesn't seem to be making any strange or loud noises when this happens, so that leads me to think its probably not hardware related. Anyone else have this issue, and if so, did you find a solution? Between this and my wifi only wanting to connect when it feels like it I'm just about at the end of my rope with what started out as a great phone. The bloom is definitely falling off of the rose here.

Um....it's a 1020 (this is the 1020 section, right? Did I post in the wrong place or something?) and I use the default app - Lumia Camera.

Sorry, my bad, I didn't looked the section of the thread ;-)
I know that with some 8.0 devices upgraded to 8.1, the "resuming" problem and the launching of apps like Lumia Camera can be a disaster.
You should wait for denim (we're not so far)
If you try to use the default "camera" app, does it change something ?

Nope. Using the MS camera app makes no difference. When Lumia Camera doesn't work I've tried switching to that one and it does the same thing. And it isn't really a problem with resuming as far as I can tell, since it happens with it just starting up for the first time after a reboot too. I'm going to take it in today because I've tried everything up to and including a reset and nothing has helped. This is the second WP handset I've had encounter an irresolvable issue (the first was a Samsung Focus Flash). Well, two issues if you count the spotty wifi. Think I'm done with my Windows Phone experiment. :/

Sad to hear that, because in fact these are hardware problems :/ Try to use your warranty, that's the best advice in this case.
