Windows Central Question

I understand that Cortana needs a Microsoft account for it's initial setup. Can I successfully use an O365 account rather than a Hotmail, outlook or live?

I just upgraded a Surface 8.1 to Win10. Cortana is asking to verify with a MS account, it's prompting with the users O365 account so I enter the password and it comes back with sorry that service is not currently available.

An Office 365 account is automatically a Microsoft account (be it gmail, hotmail, yahoo, or another provider).
However, I don't know why you are getting that error. I think it has to be the same Microsoft account that you use for log-in (at least in the RTM version of Windows 10).

Could be that this is a company issued access account (or school account???). Since OT wasn't too specific about it, we'll probably never know. :)
