Can the Surface Book 2 run TWO external monitors?

Quick question I'm curious about... Will the Surface Book 2 support TWO external monitors?

Depends on the resolution you want to run, as to whether you will need to use the Surface Connect Dock, or a USB-C Dock, but in either case, yes, it can run two monitors.

Surface Book 2 isn't up yet, but the original Surface Book did 2 monitors at 2560 x 1600 @60 Hz so I would assume Book 2 would do that at a minimum.

My SB Performance Base runs two externals, plus the laptop monitor if I set it that way. It's safe to assume the SB2 will as well. I'm running an aftermarket dock, not the Surface Connect Dock.

Positive the answer is yes, the big question is what resolution limit, probably dual 1440p max from what I'm seeing so far and then probably with the internal display off. I see no mention of driving HDR however - which may matter to you down the road.

Absolutely tested on dual 1080p monitors via the Dock and worked just fine. Dock is rated to handle up to 2 1440p monitors on the displayports. And several folks have tested 4k x2 @ 60 and failed trying even to use 1 on the dock and 1 on usb c. So the net takeaway is that you can do dual 1440p or you can do dual 4k @ 30hz or are left with up to a single 4k @ 60.

Will i be able to run two displays using both the usb type c and the surface dock, so i'll connect one using the usb type c and one using the surface dock?

So, this might be an obvious question, but: can you run one 4K @60hz and one 1440p @60hz? I can't imagine wanting more than that for my own future needs.
