Categorizing apps by letter

So a few days ago I reached the 40 or so app mark, and as expected the app list starting categorizing my apps by the first letter in the name. I uninstalled a few apps since then but im still seeing the letters. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes - counted 35, although my games collection puts it over 40

yes. although i wouldn't call it a problem to still have them listed alphabetically. Still useful.

If you power off and restart do the apps remain grouped alphabetical?

I deleted a bunch of apps and tried everything I could think of short of a hard reset and they wont go away. It seams that once they appear they are there forever.

I have the same "problem" as the OP. The categorization seemed to happen once I hit a certain number of apps and even after removing a bunch, the categorization remained, and I haven't been able to find any option to change it back to a single list.
