Charging with unofficial USB cable safe?

I forgot my USB cable at work. Do you reckon I can charge my 8s with another USB cable (such as one that comes with a Samsung Galaxy Ace)?

The cable isn't usually the issue. It's more related to the power output of the wall adapter. That being said I use different chargers all the time as long as they were meant for a smartphone.
