Check-in for 7.8 Update Through Zune, Have you gotten yours yet?

Can anyone confirm that if I use the Zune trick (unplug the ethernet cable), whether I will also get any firmware updates as well as the O/S update. Of course, I'm assuming they are somehow different updates.

I guess I just want to be certain I don't miss out on any updates, whether firmware or O/S.

(Which actually means .... I'm still waiting, and NOT HAPPY)

Update 1: No need to respond - I've read the main article, and apparently, you DO get the Firmware updates. SO, time to try after work today.

Update 2: The instructions worked absolutely fine - although I did have to re-do the "trick" in between update 1 and update 2 (which was the 8858 update). And I also got a third update for the firmware, which started immediately after update 2, without any prompting.
So ....

Also, the Radio S/W went to 2.1.75.29 (from ......25)

I got 2 updates. Is there a third one?? Can any of the ATT Lumia 900 owners who got the update confirm what their firmware version is after the updates.

There is infact a 3rd update. It is a Nokia update which I forced again and my firmware changed to 2175.2307.8858.12480

Is this a update after the 8858 update? And does this allow you to use Bluetooth Share the Ringtone Maker?

Never really paid much attention to the firmware versions.
For me, what matters most is having the latest OS version with the new resizable live tiles.
WP7.8 rocking my world now.
Hopefully soonest will be WP8.

I haven't heard anyone on t-mobile in the US getting updated yet, even with the cable trick. I don't think it's in the system yet for me, unfortunately. Has anyone received it for the US htc radar?

I don't think tmobile finished testing compatibility

Yes this is after the 7.8 update to 8858. ringtone maker and Bluetooth transfer are not available yet

Same thing for 710. Someone mentioned their Fido or Wind 710 has updated, but nothing yet AFAIK for the T-Mobile US one.

Is this the last update or is there one hidden?
This page suggests that the firmware is the latest for me.Can anyone help me please

I forced update twice (7.10.8783.12 and 7.10.8858.136), then it automatically detected one additional 'Nokia Update for Windows Phone' update. so here is my phone status:

Day 4 and no 7.8 update for 2 of my 3 Lumia 900's and 1 of my Samsung Focus Flash on AT&T in USA. The one Lumia updated on the second day and it is my Wife's and she could care less about it, she is a technological idiot, who can barely change channels on TV. Go figure.

same here, can't even force it still. But it's nice to know people who were told they weren't getting it, got it promptly on the 30th.

It seems odd to me than some are getting it and some aren't. I guess I'm lucky I got it on the 30th. I probably wouldn't have bothered with the Zune trick. I bet it's frustrating for those who didn't receive it.

So, am I the only Nokia Lumia 900 owner who got the update today?? I was so excited when I got the alert and downloaded it right away! It transitioned flawlessly though Zune! I love the new colors (I chose yellow tiles--so happy and fun), and I sooo love the smaller tile sizes, because it means I can have my favorite game apps, fitness apps, contact apps, pictures, most used tools, my weather app and my music all on the home screen without having to scroll!! And I even have room for two medium size tiles on my homescreen. Oh!! And I also noticed that when I went into pictures and chose "shuffle background" that it now only shuffles the pictures in my favorites, which is awesome, but this may have happened in a previous update and I'm only just now realizing. Anyway, love, love, love 7.8!!!!
