Considered the 640.

You could just get a Bluetooth headset and use that until you are done with your contact. With the price of the 640 you could get it and a Bluetooth and still be under $128.00. I use my Bluetooth most of the time now anyway LG neck band style

Thats what I've been doing - Which is a great idea by the way. I have Bluetooth in the car and I carry and ear piece with me usually. But there are times that I don't have my ear piece with me and then I'm really screwed because no one can hear me at all or Im very very muffled. I see what your saying though. That was my initial though because I was going to jump ship on Microsoft and head back over to Apple's Cruel world. Although to add to that I just can't do that. Even with the App Gap Ive grown attached to Microsoft. Yes the Apps suck, but the phone does what I need it to do from a business life. It's not a play toy. Its a phone and a productivity tool to me. I do have an iPad (Don't lynch me! :) ) that I can play with if Im looking to do my games on it.

You'll be giving up the camera quality, and internal storage. Other than that, it's a great bang for your buck device. Since you can find it for $30 these days, I'd say grab it and even if you don't like it you have something you can keep as a backup and/or use until you come across something you do like.

WP and finally W10M run very well on the Snapdragon 400, and for the most part this phone shouldn't feel sluggish for you even compared to the 1520. Good luck!

If possible, why not try to get a 640 XL. It's almost as big as the 1520 and has better specs than the 640... camera's good also.

Reason being is because of budget.... honestly I need a phone to last me like 3 months at that time I will evaluate where I am in my windows relationship and go from there. I've considered going back to an iPhone I won't lie simply because of the app gap. However I have an iPad I need something for phone a hot spot and occasinal esmail responses

Got a 640 for Christmas to replace my 520. It's a great phone and now you can buy it at Best Buy for $29.
I was testing W10M on my 520, but I love the 8.1 Denim on my 640 and will probably not put W10M on it.
Just came back from vacation in CA, GPS and camera worked great.

Yah this phone just needs to buy me about 4 months then hopefully Microsoft is ahead. I need something with a microphone on the phone lol.. My 1520 mic had issues which is a common trend amongst them. I just hope the 640 isn't going to kill me going backwards from a 1520

I just picked up a 640 to replace my father-in-law's 520. He said his fingers were too big for the on-screen keyboard and he needed a bigger screen. He's loving it so far.

Looks like the 520 only has a 4" Screen but he also got another 512 MB of Memory too :)

Tell me to take the plunge lol I'm terrified of doing this.. Dunno why

You order that phone right now, mister. Pick it up in store tonight.

It's a great phone for $30. It debuted at what $140? And people were happy to pay that.

You. Cannot. Lose.

Re: AMA - CHUWI In The House! Early but it is better than expected

Thanks so much for the kind words. If you really want to get your feet wet with W10M and are in the US, try a Lumia 640 GoPhone. They are super-value priced.

Buy AT&T - Microsoft Lumia 640 (Black) - No Contract - Microsoft Store
AT&T GoPhone Microsoft Lumia 640 4G LTE with 8GB Memory No-Contract Cell Phone Black NOKIA LUMIA 640 - Best Buy

IMHO, for $50 you can't beat it. But now we're taking Jazmac's thread off topic. [/sales pitch]

I just got the 640.. Going to play around with it when it's charged so I could end up bugging you with more questions. 30 dollars at Walmart, unreal value!

Dumb question for the 640. Did they give you more space for the tiles with windows 10? the store model you could onky do one row of wide tiles but the store model was on on 8.1. just asking

You can enable "extra tiles" on 8.1 and it is standard on 10.

You may also, on 10, adjust >Settings > System > Display and use a slider to control size of text, apps and items. 200% is the default and looks how you would expect.

Some are using 175% which gets you a reduction of the font size on your Live Tiles... The benefit being that when you enter multitasking view you see open Apps laid out in a 2 row, 2 column array rather than just one App/screen.

With this setting, you can also go back into the Start Screen settings and re-enable "More Tiles" and you will get 4 columns of tiles instead of 3. That's what I do. Really nice.

And a 5th Quick Action toggle in Notification Center...
