Cortana doesn't read my incoming messages

I've set up 'read aloud incoming text messages' to always on under speech settings, but Cortana doesn't read them. But she talks with me just fine. Any other setting I may have missed looking at?

If you have changed speech settings and allowed cortana to read messages then I don't think you are missings anything . Try rebooting your device. If this doesn't fix then go for a soft reset. (hold power+ volume down) until phone vibrates and restarts. make sure you keep location on. Otherwise cortana wont read your messages.
