Cortana randomly turns on

Hi guys

So I have this problem on my XL - cortana randomly turns on even without saying Hey Cortana
It's got to the point wjhere I have to turn the phone off in meetings because it keeps happening while other ppl are speaking!
Has this been seen before?

Default is Cortana reminds of meetings & reminders you have in your calendar. You can also disable Cortana responds to Hey Cortana. Coughing can raise Cortana from death.

Thats fine, however setting cortana to respond to hey cortana should only work for those words like it did in 8.1, not some random words that someone may say in a meeting cause it to wake up?

strange! just try it at a quiet place by saying some random words... it should precisely pick "hey cortana", but still a device cannot distinguish voice from noise most of the time..

Just watching TV, Cortana would wake up.
I had to turn off "Hey Cortana". It was only fun for a few minutes anyway, and kind of cheesy like "OK Google".

My preference is to press a button to activate my "Voice Assistant"

Yup, I read about this too.

I had that same issue until I went into the Cortana settings, under notebook in Cortana, and changed the hey Cortana to just wake up to my voice. When it was set to anybody, other sounds would wake it up.

can anyone with this feature report how this feature impacts battery life? (a full day of normal use with "hey cortana turned off", another day with it "on") from a full charge for 12 hours.
