CSDDiag Update

CSDDiag on my phone just updated and there are some notable changes here.
The version now is 1.01.01g

After you hit the accept button in the list of options there is a Hall-Sensor Test. Moreover there is a More button which takes to another list of options. The options are
Battery Test
Device Info
Factory Reset
GPS Test
LiveCall Test(Reciever, P-Sensor)
LightSensor Test(Virtual Key Only)
LightSensor Test
NFC Test(NFC-Capable Only)
CIR Firmware Version.

Any ideas on what the Hall-Sensor Test and CIR Firmware Version are for?

Hall sensor is for a compass. Guess this test checks operation. Firmware version looks pretty boring. Maybe they now have some phones with a different version and want to be able to see it?

Information you got was wrong. HTX 8X does not have Hall sensor. I believe the application was updated for One M8 support.
Hall sensor is for cover detection, like "smart" covers that automatically turn off the screen or load a different screen mode (see galaxy S4 "smart" cover).

CIR is Consumer IR (infrared port on new HTC phone. one M8)
