Dark vs Light theme.

I use a light theme on my 1520 phablet with an orange or red accent and it looks nca!
I have toggled between light and dark theme and I honestly don't notice a big difference in terms of battery life, my 1520 battery life is kickass in any theme (well compared to most smart phones today).

I change my brightness settings to Auto-Adjust and set level to low, that way it's not a beacon of light like most people make it out to be.

My phone in the dark theme also seems very bright, even when its brightness is low, battery saver & automatic adjust is on. So from the last 2& half years, I am always using a dark theme, with selected 8-10 colours which I change everyday which is fixed on a particular day.

I switch depending on the color I'm feeling. Some colors like pink, lime, green, teal, cyan, red, orange, amber look better with the light background. Others look better with the dark background. My favorite combinations are in this order: Gray/Dark, Olive/Dark, Crimson/Dark, Brown/Light, Green/Light, Magenta/Light or Dark, Pink/Light.

I have the same combinations, instead of magenta/pink I use cobalt/amber, & definitely dark theme for all.

Changed from dark to white on my 920. Love it. Easier to read. For 1520, still dark as the real estate is too huge. Thus, causing eyes discomfort. In a nutshell, light for smaller screen, dark for large screen.

Dark themes 99% of the time for me ! as you say the lighter does not suit the OS and apps if they have options of colours I will go for darker settings from dark blues, grey or black, even my screen turn to low light, (and not to save on battery either) I just find it easier on my eyes at the end of the day and personal choice, for darker colours on my phone.

I used the cobalt and dark themes for years ! day in day out. Only the last 2 or 3 month I've switched to orange..

Should let us have another option of light dull yellow as background, reminiscing that of unbleached paper. Easier to our eyes.
