Data issue - Nokia paying for your phone!

I would say it's starting to be a little misleading. I found this: Lumia 900 update - Nokia - USA today and I'm not really seeing where the stipulations are, other than the obvious. I wonder if they're tracking the calls that came into AT&T for the data issue? In other words, you called AT&T about the "no data" issue, it was recorded into their system and that's how they're basing who does and does not get the credit?

Maybe the guy emailing me didn't know what he was talking about, that's why I'm confused because up until I got the email everything I read said ANYONEthat purchased the Lumia 900 would receive the rebate. I just emailed Nokia from their site asking what I needed to do to get the rebate and that email was the response I got. Nowhere in the email does it say what to do to get the rebate, just that it's only for those affected by the data loss.

My AT&T store here in Florida seemed to have their facts straight on all of this.

I would try calling AT&T directly.

Here's a useful link for getting through to a human ASAP:

AT&T Wireless Customer Phone Number | Shortest Wait | Best Support | GetHuman.com

You can also call Nokia directly about it, since they are the ones footing the bill:

Nokia Care professionals can be reached at 1-888-665-4228.
Phone center hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM ? 9:0o PM EST and Saturday 10:00 AM ? 7:00 PM EST.

I would trust Nokia on this 100%. If you buy a Lumia 900 before April 21st, Nokia will take care of $99 of your first bill. Some AT&T store employees may be ignorant about this, but it's not up to them, this is all being handled at a much higher level, not controlled by the stores at all, they have no say in the matter.

Thanks very much for that info. I've already sent a note to Nokia Care and will likely try to reach out to AT&T customer care as well. I'm pretty sure Nokia is trustworthy on this, and I think it's great that they're doing it to begin with, it's AT&T I'm not entirely sure about!

Not that I think I know everything, but I do generally do my homework on these things, and it just kills me when I seem to know more about this stuff than the folks who supposedly do this for a living!

What's probably happening is that AT&T is trying to limit its losses.
If they say "yes, $100 AND a new phone" to everyone, that will be a logistical nightmare.
Simply saying it's "either/or" will probably be enough to deter most people.

The frustrating part is that the ATT people act like the internet doesn't exist once you step inside the store. That's not good business.

OK, so I just got back from a different AT&T store where the people seemed much more knowledgeable and helpful.

I mentioned the $100 rebate and the salesperson nodded and quickly confirmed that, yes, if I bought before 4/22 I would get the credit automatically adjusted to my bill. He said it takes 1 - 2 billing cycles. He told me there's nothing you need to do; once the purchase is entered into the AT&T system and it is assigned to my number it's taken care of.

Hope that helps a bit!

People need to get smart about this.

Just email AT&T customer service from from your OLAM.

I got written confirmation from AT&T customer and they noted my account for $100 service credit Best to have things in writing from AT&T.

yep,no-contract Lumia ,sorry for the confusion :)

To check whether its locked/unlocked,would have to find a sim from t-mobile which fits this one ...

Just got my Lumia 900 in WHITE today, no credit, but I'm selling my old Samsung Focus for $100 ;)

No sign of the credit on my bill yet and I just got the new one, I called on Sunday and customer service told me they could not find a record of the credit at all in their system but gave me a number for contacting the "sales department" intend to call them today or tomorrow to find out when I can expect to see the credit on my bill.

Does this 100CR mean I got the refund from the Lumia?
