Deleting Maps

I set my Lumia 1520 to download maps to the SD Card. How can I delete the 2.7gb USA map from the phone storage and reclaim that space?

I tried deleting maps, but have not gained any space on the phone's 16gb of storage.

Have you tried opening Here Maps and going into download maps?

Where did you select the sd card for the maps? I can't find that setting.

You can let HERE Maps store offline maps to the SD card by using the Lumia Storage Check app (LINK).

However, you can't move existing maps to the SD card.

Yes -- that's the problem. I used Lumia Storage Check to tell 1520 to download maps to the SD card. But I can't seem to delete the map I earlier downloaded to the phone storage. I did as KoukiF3CS suggested and deleted maps. Offline maps are gone, but available storage space remained the same.

I'm missing something!

Try uninstalling the app, that should take its data with it.

Just uninstalled HERE maps. Powered down, started, no change in memory.

Not to hijack the thread, but how do you set the maps to go to the SD card. I installed the storage check beta, but I don't see any settings. I would help and see if my storage changes when the maps are moved, but I can't find it.

I did it!

Using a combination of the previous suggestions, I:
Installed Lumia Storage Check
Set to download maps to SD Card
Downloaded USA map (2.7gb)
In Lumia Storage Check, reset to download maps to phone
Removed SD card
Still in LSC, tapped "maps" button and deleted USA map (deleted map from phone)
Reinserted SD card
Still in LSC, reset to download maps to SD card

Storage on phone gained over 2gb.

Thanks mate, worked for me. I've been trying to find a solution for this like forever until now . A little modification to your procedure though, no need to physically remove the sd card. Just press remove sd card on the phone storage option under system settings. Do the map deletion on the phone as you described and then restart your unit to access the sd card again. The result should be same.

I can't perform this workaround as I don't have the SD card option in my Lumia 920.

But nokia's storage check says I'm using 358 MB of space for maps, map tapping on maps it reveals that I have only the Brazilian Southeast Region which takes only 216.8 MB. I already had additional maps though, then I think that when I deleted it the space was not freed actually. I know its not much space but my memory is always almost full, I'd like to gain this space again. Does anyone know what I can try?

Before the operation I had 178mb marked as Maps on Phone.
I just finished these steps, thanks to MATRIX RELOADED and it worked for me too. But I am not able to delete maps from the phone memory completely. I still have 94mb here. That's odd because full map of my region takes up to 84mb.
So how to fully delete maps form the phone memory?
