I had the Venue 8 Pro for maybe 1 week and thoroughly enjoyed it a lot. I went from the Surface RT (release day) to Thinkpad Tablet 2 to Surface2 (release day) to finally the Venue 8 Pro.
The Surface 2 was pretty fast but I felt it wasn't fast enough. After obtaining the Venue 8 Pro, this was the speed and snappiness I was looking for. The only problem with going from the Surface 2 to Venue 8 Pro was not having full HD. The Venue8P is such an awesome tablet and I like it way better than the Surface2. I really don't need full windows, I just needed more power. Although I enjoyed the Venue8P I really really missed full HD. I then decided to take the plunge and order the Thinkpad8.
I didn't understand the reviews comparing the Thinkpad8 to the Venue8P on how you can't tell the screen difference between the two unless they are side by side. The reason being is because the Venue 8P while not full HD still has an excellent screen. But........... When you have them side by side, the difference is pretty stark. Not only is the Thinkpad8 .3 bigger since its 8.3, the full HD makes a world of difference. I tried to take a full pics using my 1520 to see if you could tell the difference, but I'm not sure. Here are a few photos.
