Denim Installed - Slow Rotation

Checked the Microsoft support forums and it appears the recommended procedures for any (post) firmware update problems is to perform a reset, and failing that - to flash the phone using Nokia Recovery Tool.

Took the plunge and the auto-rotate seems to be good now. Everything else (apps) is still restoring and I trust all will be well, based on previous poster's experiences.

Just wanted to put in here that I couldn't find this problem on Microsoft Support pages, but all have a common solution - that some of us have tried successfully.

I had 3 choices when recovering:
  1. From yesterday's backup
  2. From a backup back in October 2014
  3. Start from a clean slate

I chose to recover from yesterday and all is good.

Aside from having this exact same issue with Lumia camera 5, I also have some issues with sound. I know this isn't the right thread but I feel it appropriate to aggregate all issues with this app. Have you guys experience lack of sound while recording? It only happens to me while recording in portrait mode and ONLY with the Lumia camera, through other apps including the Microsoft camera app, recording sound is fine in both landscape and portrait. But portrait recording in Lumia camera 5 gets no sound no matter how much I've fiddled with Dolby sound, resolutions, uninstall and reinstalls, etc. Anyone experiencing this?

Just tried mine and the audio is fine in portrait mode, although why I would want to record video in portrait more I do not know.

+1 for Rick's findings and comments.
Keep in mind, we have already gone through the "reset" procedure, and all appears fine.

You can try Microsoft Support.
I suspect they'll stick with stock standard problem solving; reset or re-flash.

Don't you hate it when you watch YouTube clips, or those that make it to TV and the sides are black-bordered or have that blurry filler? Just because the video was taken in portrait.

I have intermittent working rotation. It will rotate for days and then just stops, unknown what initiates it. Restart does not fix the problem.
Also the three buttons do not dim anymore; Back, Start, and Search.
"Hey Cortana" does not work at all.

Well, add me to the list of people experiencing the screen rotation problem. I didn't want to reset, but I guess its the best option. I really like the rich capture feature of Lumia camera.

I've been getting slow rotation most notably in lumia camera (lots of my photos are in the wrong orientation lately) Been ignoring it but now I'm starting to get notification issue in some apps.... guess I'm due for a full reset. It's too bad as I was hoping that we would be able to avoid this with windows phone.

I think the rotation bug is related to Cortana. Here I have the bug just if I set region to United States. If I set region to Brazil (cortana is disabled, of course) the bug simply don't occur.

Uh oh. I had this problem along with black screen while on calls ALWAYS not just while up to my head. Turns out it wasn't a software bug but the proximity sensor not working unless I pushed the glass in. I fixed that problem by superglueing the glass to the frame but ultimately its a hardware problem. Hope that helps. As far as the rotation bug, resetting the phone fixed it for me. I slap had a lot of heat problems and battery drain so my Lumia 930 was baaaad. Got a Lumia icon and now everything is great. Even works just as good with GSM carriers.
