Developer Preview 8.1 Bugs and Defects Thread

Huge problem today - all of a sudden none of my Lumia 920's (WP8.1 DVP latest build) sensors are wording (no gyro, accelerometer, proximity sensor, GPS), and the camera app crashes as soon as I take a photo.

I've tried a hard reset today and that has made no difference.

The only other person I've found with a similar experience was Nokia Lumia 920 all of sudden Camera app, proximity sensor, screen roatation, accelerometer, phone button lights are not working :'( - has this been known before?

Since update 3, When using IE, it displays the text from search results nicely in portrait, but when I use landscape the text is huge. It is like it zooms in too much. I can only see one or two results. Also, when looking for images, I can no longer go to the website, it simply takes me to the image. I used to be able to click the address (at the bottom of the picture), and that would take me to the site. One last point, my photohub tile displays a picture at random. Which is all good, unless it is a picture I don't want everyone to see. Can I stop this?

Yes it does, it can show either all of the pictures, favourites or only one, check the settings.

And all of a sudden the touch becomes unresponsive..
The touch comes back to normal state only when you lock and unlock the screen... (On a 520)

Ya it is happening to me on lumia 820 as well.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly, it is no gonna work. The tile is not the main photohub one, I pinned the camera one to my main screen. I did that because the way the photo hub opens is chronological, which caused me some issues last time. Some saved images appeared, which I wouldn't want to share. That photo hub was better before, it also could do with a lock.

I was surfing through web pages and then suddenly my 720 COMPLETELY froze on a black screen, I was not able to turn it off, so I waited a bit and then the screen started flashing like crazy! I hope the final release isn't like that because this is horrible...

I have observed a problem with screen getting frozen on Lumia 920 with developer preview.

First time I got this problem after I hung up a call(on 19 June), the screen was frozen and couldnt do anything with the phone. I waited for some time and went for a soft reset. Phone restarted but the date and time was changed to 22 May 8:20 AM.

faced the same issue today morning. This time it was after I locked my screen. Again after soft reset, the date and time was changed to 22 May 8:20 AM.
Would like to know whether anyone has faced this issue on Lumia 920.

When viewing the calendar entries in a shared room, pressing the month charm brings you to the old monthly view, not the redesigned one.

I have a Rogers Lumia 920 phone with windows 8.1 on it.
I have not yet Unlocked the phone, so there is no SIM card in it.

-Start Screen background not showing
-Lock Screen background not showing.

have tried multiple times with soft resets and changing the backgrounds.

bugs after last update

hello every IDK if you're facing same problems as I face right now with the Last update since I update the Last Update of WP 8.1 DP my phone every while it freeze without any warning it just freeze I can't even turn it off for a While and then it start working again and than there is another Problem I see every day every time I try to update My apps they just stop downloading like today it took me 4 hours just to update 4 apps who total size didn't reach 50MBs what's the reason of this so i had to reset it to work again yet Nothing have changed since i format it any help please ??

P.S: my phone is Lumia 1020 Unlocked

Have you done a soft reset o your phone? If not try that first. If that does not work then get back with us here and we will try to figure out whats happening and why you're having these problems. I have not had any similar issues with either my 920 or 1520

I am still having a phone freeze problem, it's even more frequent now. It feels terrible to use phone like this.... Any thoughts when will samsung release official firmware?

I own T mobile Lumia 520. With OS version 8.10.12397.895. Ever since I have installed the DP 8.1 my store has stopped updating my apps. All of my Apps are still PENDING in my Store > Download page from 4/25/14 (The day I Installed DP 8.1). And I am unable to download any new Apps either, due to the long Que list. Can anyone help me out with this?

After the last update on my Icon I've had for the 1st time been getting reboots 4 so far. Can't wait for the firmware update. All in all still light years ahead of 8.0

You should go back to 8, there was a article on 8.1 & Samsung phones having issues.

I own an unlocked HTC 8X from Verizon and I use it on Straight Talk with an AT&T sim card. After the latest update to WP 8.1 DP, I have been unable to send text messages. I can still receive texts, make calls and receive calls, I just can't send texts. I don't know if the latest update caused it, but there's really no other explanation. Any thoughts?
