Developer Preview 8.1 Bugs and Defects Thread

While using MixRadio with headphones, sometimes the music just stops or there is no sound. To fix this just unplug and plug in back the headphones. Occurring only on GDR1, didn't have anything like this on WP8.1.
Not sure about the music app though.

I found 2 problems/bugs
1 - New keyboard Installation - When I try to install a new keyboard it says preparing for download and after a while "attention requeried"
2 - When I got the a website using the phone mobile website www.groupme.com it shows a button "Get the App". When I click on it, it opens the STORE searching for "groupme for iphone".
Microsoft changed the agent to identify make it more compatible with Webkit and now all websites thinks that I have a Iphone. I wonder if it will impact the browsing marketshare count.

While many users have a habit to flaunt (they would send mail from a cheap Android and sign "Sent from my iPad") you get the iOS type browsing experience free... Enjoy while it lasts...

Hey i have a Lumia 630 and to be honest i haven't read the full list of bugs but is there anyone experiencing live tiles going all transparent for a few seconds with the refresh for DP 8.10.14157.200? It happens now and then once you get back to the main screen after using an app. All tiles go transparent then they got back to normal, like there was a delay, also Accuweather seems to be in a fight to display the live tile. Thanks in advance.

Another bug, check the screenshot. If you want to set one of green-crossed pictures for the lock screen, you will get the red-crossed one.


Edit 1. Works fine if you choose them for the start background.

since the 8.1 update saving a new contact takes a lot of time and also i am not getting an alert when i receive a text message, any tip on fixing this?

Suddenly from past few days my phone is restarting on its own... Mainly when i'm typing a whatsapp message the swipe action on keyboard gets laggy and BOOM... Restart... And sometimes just on normal usage like checking out settings, device gets laggy and again BOOM... Restart... Help pls...

Not sure if it was because my phone was heating up or not but Cortana kept popping up randomly in succession and my headphones volume was stuck on 30. Turned it off and back on and the headphone volume began responding normally again, but Cortana popped up twice more. I was also having some issues with mix radio shutting down and skipping songs. That seems okay now too after a restart, but I would still like to know why I was having these issues and how I can prevent them from happening again.

I am sure that lot of you are experiencing "resuming" bug after latest updates, is there a specific thread about it? Are they planning to fix it ?
Almost every option i select in options menu it goes to resuming first. Its annoying and taking away the fluidity and speed that WP had.

Hi,

I have only one problem on my Lumia 920 with 8.10.14157.200 - up to now I had continuously on battery saver. This means that normally you have battery icon with shield indication in the middle.
With this newest SW very often when I disconnect charger, battery indicator in the top menu still shows battery icon with electrical plug - which means that phone still thinks that charger is connected!
This also means that battery saver is not working at all. Drain of the battery is enormous and today I needed to do soft-reset 3 times, as I had continuously wrong battery power level and phone was not able to start until I connected the charger.
What a mess... :/

I can understand your concern. It appears you are running the developer's
preview. The firmware for 8.1 is called Lumia Cyan. The phone is currently
running the Lumia Black firmware which was for 8.0.

No, you shouldn't need to downgrade to 8.0 to update to 8.1. The "bitlocker"
difficulty was very rare and it was for phones that had a company or
exchange account on it.

And I solved my issue
What I had was: Lumia Black --> some SW updates up to 8.10.14157.200 dev preview.
What I did is: connect to NSM --> install newest firmware (Cyan) --> install all dev previews up to 8.10.14157.200.

Now everything works as expected

App Corner
Don't bother to organized your tile at the app corner because you are just wasting your time and effort, after all, the sweat you have done to make your app corner look pleasant to your borrower is useless, the next time you launch it to impress your friends,it will return into its messy and clutter arrangement.$ frustrated man "

Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi means so much in every smartphones, how come it is connected to the Wi-Fi but says no internet connection(sucks), while upon checking with my other devices they are sound and well connected. You have to manually off and on your Wi-Fi to connect again and again and again....

Not able to open Display and Extras + Info, starts crashing gets me back to start screen,
had flashed Cyan on my 1020 and yesterday installed developer preview.

Funny thing is developer Preview did not give me any problem when i was on Black and DP 8.1.

Nokia camera had stopped working, had to uninstall it and install again.
