Disappointing...

For 521 being a high regraded Windows Phone, it has the most bugs and defects, everyone I know is on their 3rd or 4th replacement. Thank the phone gods for replacement plans.

I have two 521's
One no problems...
The other I did send to Nokia recently for a screen problem and it was repaired and returned to me quickly.

As far as the 635 I think I'm going to buy one for a new back-up phone...
The 521's screen is a bit tiny for the old eyes.
I'm really curious about the new low end with 8.1 from the factory.

When you are getting 18 Mbps down with three bars it is pretty decent and I don't miss LTE.

I used to get 22.6 Mbps down to and from work on Tmos HSPA+ on the 810

Considering the 1525 apparently rumored to be released, the 635 will then be ideal for me to own, 635 when I'm out doing something physical such as work or gym, and the 1525 for home use and going out.

Exactly why I am reluctant to upgrade from the 521. I was seriously expecting a 1GB ram and either a flash or front facing camera as upgrades from the 521 but now I doubt I will get the 635. LTE is not worth it to me since I mostly use WiFi. I might get the 925 but then I am thinking about the lack SD card. Talk about ruining the whole experience.

The 630/635 isn't really a disappointment in my opinion, I do think they could have upped the RAM and added a basic flash but that's about it. Now, when it comes to the 930/Icon, the argument is different. For such a premium phone it lacks some very key design elements and features that are to found on older models from Nokia. The lack of expandable storage is just dumb, companies are touting the Cloud as an alternative but as an educated consumer I can see right past the marketing hype. When I spend 500 plus on a device I want longevity and expandability, period. Secondly, why did they remove Glance? or is it tap to wake? Either way you would think your high end offering can match if not exceed flagships from over a year ago.

Hopefully MS/Nokia offerings later this year, or Q1 will be more impressive.

I agree.

Out of curiosity, anyone know if the 635 has an equalizer? I know the 521 lacked that; my friend who has a 521 but who switched to a 925 complained a LOT about that.

I don't know if people's experience with the 520 has been similar to your 521, but I had my 520 for about 8-9 months, and it was flawless. It worked well as a phone, the wireless and bluetooth were rock solid (never dropped), and was overall happy with it. I sold it to upgrade to an 820, which I am even happier with.
