I'm currently using the Neat Desktop app on Windows 10, but recently Neat has decided to move to a cloud based model. From what I understand this requires the user to move their local database to the Neat cloud.
While it is possible to continue using the local database and Neat Desktop app indefinitely, it appears that support for the non-cloud based Neat software is, or will be soon coming to an end. No bug fixes or new features, and perhaps limited functionality with or support for future Windows versions.
Thus, I'm starting to look for alternatives that do not require using a cloud to store personal documents and related information (receipts, important documents, etc.). Are there any other good, well supported, and non-cloud based document management software options that could be an alternative to Neat?
