Does "Hey Cortana" keep switching itself off?

So since updating to Denim on my 930 (UK unlocked) all features are available and working. The one issue I have is that "Hey Cortana" keeps switching itself off. It is set to run in background tasks (including whilst battery saver is active) but barely stays on. Every time I switch the phone on I have to activate it? Am I being super stupid? Have I missed something somewhere? Or are you having the same problem?

As long as you have it turned on in settings, pin to the start screen she runs in the background.

Haven't got her pinned to the start screen, will try that. Could that really have been it?

I didn't pinned it. Tried few times and it works.

Have you set up the note book, interest, and other information about yourself.

Hey Cortana turns off with the battery saver whatever your Cortana/Batter Saver setting is. It should turn on again once you have charged the phone above the level where Battery Saver kicks in.

Yes all set up has been since Cyan upgrade, it wasn't coming back on after battery saver kicking in hence this post exists.

Looks like not having it pinned was the culprit so my thanks to pmhgeneral for that tip!
