Email account continuously syncs

Hi. I noticed that one of my email accounts is in a continuous sync mode. Thus, I am not receiving any emails because it won't stop syncing. Because the email account is in sync mode, I cannot delete the account, nor can I change any settings on the account. Does anyone know how I can stop this continuous syncing? Or, how I can delete this email account?
 
Try shutting down (or soft reset), then change the sync settings.

Happened to me, I believe a soft reset fixed it.
 
Thanks. I was able to delete the email account. Hopefully this will resolve my battery drain and overheating problem.
