Email & Cortana Not Working on Verizon HTC 8X

I updated my HTC 8X on Verizon & I cannot access any of my email accounts including Outlook. I reauthorized the permissions it asked me to & when I tap to launch any account or tap an email address on a contact card, the screen flashes black, then goes back to Start or the contact. New emails show on live tiles & in Action Center. Cortana doesn't work either. Search button does nothing. When I hold down I get the audio prompt for voice commands, but nothing pops up. Even going to Bing.com doesn't launch Cortana. Going to Cortana under Applications in settings, says it is off. I turn on, back out, go back, Cortana is off. Battery Saver won't open either. I've tried rebooting, didn't change anything. HELP!
