You literally feel no difference when it comes to mm. 0.5mm more or less is completely indistinguishable.
You do however feel humps and sticking volcanoes in the back of the phone. The L1020 is one of the worst phones I ever hold, honestly. It's awesome, yes, but like the 808 before it, it's uncomfortable in the hand...and a phone should feel comfortable. Because let us not forget, it IS a phone we're talking about.

So yeah. I prefer flat phones, with no humps, that feel good in my hand and can also be placed on a flat surface without becomes wobbly.

I agree with you that the 1020 has a large hump on the back, and with good reason, 41 million of them but, I don't think it's bad enough to say it has a "volcano" on the back. LOL.

I want to get my first Windows phone. I'm replacing my Note with AT&T. Almost grabbed a 1020 today but saw the 1520. This is one of three of phones so I don't mind the size. After I saw this post, now contemplating if I should wait for these new Lumias or just get the 1520.

if you wait, you will keep on waiting, since we get new phone every 3 months (generally speaking), just buy what you think is nice and enjoy it now, sell it then get a new one, sell it, then get a new one, sell it then get a new one you can see where im going with this.
