The Facebook Beta is pretty fast now IMO. Starts up almost instantly, images load quickly after tapping on them and also returns back to the newsfeed quicker when you press the back button. Much better than how it was a few months ago.

I wish they add the Code generator to the app (for two-factor authentication) since Facebook doesn't support the more commonly used Authenticator app.

i have the lumia 720 too and wanted to change to a lumia with 1gb of ram just because of FB app,but now with 'it's faster' i think i'll wait for the 930 or maybe 1520v with 2gb if it's true...besides the 'resuming' screen appearing once in a while,got used to it,i think the battery compensates for the 512 more RAM i have pretty much what i need on the 720,i had a 920 for 2 days but i find the design and the feel of the 720 near perfect for me,somehow i like it more,and as for RAM - i'm not playing any games...i've got my PC for that

I don't see any of my friends posts through the news feed .. only pages.. Is there a fix for that ??

I went back to android because I could never get a straight answer to the same question, the WP8 Facebook was always missing posts that were showing in the PC version or ios/android versions, but no matter the settings they never showed in WP8. The only answer I get is because the WP8 version of Facebook is not developed by Facebook but Microsoft and therefore it is treated as a third party app by Facebook servers. I confirmed that the same behaviour happened in Android if I use a third party Facebook app like Flipster or even adding my Facebook account to Flipboard, I will see exactly the same info as the WP8 facebook version. So until Facebook decides to officially support the WP8 Facebook app there is no easy fix, all you can do is text all your Facebook friends and tell them to go into their Facebook settings and allow 3rd party apps to access their post, and even after that you will still missing post like when some of you friends 'Like' some videos of posts.

For those having issues uploading photos, this might be your problem.
I did extensive testing on this long back and have reported to microsoft numerous times and on various forums.

When uploading a pic, either in the facebook app, facebook beta, or the windowsphone hub, if you put a line feed in the description text (hit enter) it wont upload.
This behaviour has been consistent for me for a year with every version, every update I retry it and still the error is there.

So it may be that sometimes you describe your photo with more text and decided a new paragraph is required, and on these occasions it wont upload.

Its all irrelevant for me right now, I cant even open the facebook app, it opens for 2 seconds then closes, both beta and regular.....very annoyed. Came here to check solutions for this problem after reading a lot of reviews on the store which have the same problem, saw the photo uploading problem, thought I might be able to help. Good luck!

My facebook issue is directly related to the sensors not working.
My accelerometer started working again briefly after the phone had been off for many hours following a flight.
During that time, I reinstalled facebook beta, and it worked.
10 minutes later, accelerometer stops again (cant rotate screen).
Facebook wont open, but this time says it detected an error, which I chose to send.

Heres some of the error text from the email which I cc'd to myself

Is it just me that I can view some files and photos on a private group on facebook? Although there's no problem on viewing and commenting a particular post but when it comes on photos and files there's a having a problem with it.

This is a weird problem I've just noticed. It's not the app itself, but a general Facebook problem I want to see if anyone else has noticed and maybe know how to fix it. The problem is that in the Facebook app, I see posts and updates in the news feed that do not show up when viewed in a web browser. For example, on the Facebook app, I'll see 3 posts by a friend of mine, but on Facebook in a web browser (I've tried multiple browsers), it will only show 1 of those posts. I've checked Facebook settings on the browser and I can't find anything.

I am hoping for a major revamp on Facebook on WP 8.1. There's lot of things need to fix on this. I was totally jealous with android and ios in terms of lot of features on facebook than on WP. But I keep my high hopes. I never had any issues so far with the messenger other than NO free call but the main Facebook app need to fixed a lot.
