We are all on Nokia Lumia's (3 822s and 2 928s) on Verizon. We use the Family Rooom to do group chatting, but some members do not receive messages. What is going on here and how can we fix it?

BUMP!

I am bumping this as maybe somebody might have a better answer than me.

1. All users signed in and available online in the messaging app?

Do all users have a data connection?

Everyone is on the same family plan, 12GB of shared data, 4G LTE. Some have @live and others have @outlook accounts. Everyone is signed in. Some messages get delivered, and some do not. It's not like one member is getting zero messages. It's just that not everyone is getting every message. Mom will send a message and Sister will get it but Brother won't. Sister will send a message and both Mom and Brother will get it. Brother will send a message and no one will get it. Stuff like that.

Okay, we are still having these problems. Is no one else? That means maybe we have some settings wrong? We all used the default Family Room that came pre-installed on Windows Phones. Is there some setting that needs to be switched, such as ensuring elsewhere (e.g., in the Messaging app) that we are all on "messenger" instead of Facebook or Text or what? It's frustrating that we cannot communicate with each other.

Also, I have a question about groups. I thought I read that I can create a group and put my iPhone using friends in there and we can group message that way? Or was this only for Windows Phone 7?

The built in messenger is highly unreliable. I was disappointed with it as well. In the end just went back to whatsapp for group messages. I mean the messenger works but I can't rcv msgs sometimes too and always get disconnected.

There are still alot of things MS needs to update. Those little things that are suppose to work out of the box. I appreciate the firmware updates but alot of common features are not addressed yet.

rdubmu has it right I think. My fiance just got a new windows phone, and she was consistently having delays or problems receiving messages in rooms. What I finally did was have her log onto live.com and change her availability from "invisible" to "available." We just made this change about half an hour ago, and it seems to be working perfectly now.

If you're not sure where to make this change, when you log into live.com (or outlook.com, it all brings you to the same place now) select your name at the top right, and then select "available," as I'm assuming that if you are having this issue then it is probably set to "invisible."

Hopefully this helps anyone else having this problem like we were!
