Flashing red/green led

I've noticed my 8x led flashing red and green. It only happens when running a craptacular gps navigation app. The phone runs mega hot.

Overheating warning?

Too much power draw to charge?

Any guesses?

There are reports on the One X that red/green means overheating, so probably the same with the 8x.

Interesting...
I've only had red when charging and green when charged.
Was the phone plugged in, when this occurred?

Yes plugged in to my car stereo usb

Then, maybe it was charging and then showed you that it was fully charged?
I don't recall if my LED flashes, or not.
If it was alternating, though, (red green red green) I have no idea.

No its just solid green when fully charged.

Happenede the same thing to me. I think is overheating, because my phone was really hot. I was playing qonqr will charging it at the same time.

This is all starting to make sense now. My 8x completely died today and yesterday I did observe the same green and red flashing LEDs. It's not the first time either. It happened when I played Wordament which is not a graphics intensive game at all.

Overheating on most phones is not caused by graphic intensiveness of a game, but by rapid memory read write operations.

Edit: Alternate flashing of red & green does indicate phone overheating on most HTC handsets. It used to happen on the HD2 also.

If the red is flashing then it means your phone has gone below 20% battery.

Well I've had my replacement 8x for just over 2 days and I've been playing Wordament quite a bit and the phone hasn't exhibited any overheating yet. So far, so good.
