Flaws i've noticed in Windows Phone 8

Please read carefully I said its a let down compared to "wp7" keyboard ;]

Please read carefully yourself; I quoted shinygerbil, not you, who insinuated people aren't talking about the keyboard because they don't want to admit it needs improvement. I was taking issue with that, not with what you said.

Let me start off by saying I really love my nokia 822 and I'm a big supporter of WP8. I work for a wireless carrier where I try to show off how great WP8 is and I try to show my reps how nice the phones and the OS is to use. With that said I have a few issues that I like to bring to light. I have heard that microsoft is working on it but there needs to be a notifications menu added some where to the phone. I use Groupme all the time for work and personal and if I miss a message I would not know it until I open up the app. Also on my htc trophy there was a way for me to show the text at the top of the screen or not to show the message. That setting is gone now which makes it annoying because no matter what I'm doing I get my messages coming across the top of the phone. Ringtones is nice that I can quick download ringtones but why can I not make one has my text message ringtone? needs to be way to select where you would like to save your ringtone. I'm not going to talk about apps because I know microsoft is working with everyone to try to get the big names apps on the phone so I will just have to wait. Another thing that is really nice that android does is if I read something online or with in weave app I could share it with my friends through groupme. With WP8 I have to open up the article in IE copy the address then open up groupme to send the link where if there was a way to just touch share and it would know that I have groupme so I can send it there. I understand that this a new OS that there is going to be updates so I will work through them but I would like to see these changes added with the next updates.

In IE you can simply press the 3 dots and then "share" then pick an app then pick a recipient or a group (i have my fam group and friends group) so I do it that way with easy. And most of the apps with articles rss readers or whatever have a simple share icon below the article that has the same share function I mentioned before.

that was my bad in my end. Somehow I got an email so I assumed it was for me.

Or, maybe perhaps, most people don't think the keyboard needs improvement? I love my 820's keyboard, it's better for me than my iPhone 4 keyboard was, and I don't even put Android keyboards in the same ball park (I hated my Samsung Captivate keyboard, and my Nexus 7 keyboard was only "ok" because it was big.) So that's a big jump for you to assume what you just assumed there.

Or maybe, perhaps, I wasn't talking about (or to) you, but rather the obvious culprits who were doing the other things I mentioned in my post. (i.e. taking a small piece of a post and responding to only that piece in isolation - which ironically you did just do 😉)

I'd like to point out also that "better than the competition" does not imply "no room for improvement". That is how recent versions of iOS came about - Apple resting on their laurels because they had no perceived pressure to innovate or improve.

Anyway my post was grumpy and not really very constructive - and it wasn't really aimed at the majority of the people in here. Carry on!

How do you open PDF's in Kindle? I don't think Kindle can view PDFs.

This phone is getting returned this weekend if I can't figure out how to review a PDF drawing that's emailed to me.

Go to settings, language and region. If you are in the USA change your phone region to a European country and reboot, inside that hub where you change it it says reboot to apply changes.Once reboot go to the App Store and download Nokia reading. Now put the pdf files on your Skydrive and open Nokia Reading. Download them to Nokia Reading to view them.

Firstly, that's no use on an 8X.
Secondly, is there an easy way to "put the pdf files on your SkyDrive" without using a computer?

Was i complaining about os? No. I was just stating the fact. I don't know what you were smoking and claiming that this thread is made by a troll is a bit offensive for someone who's supported Microsoft since 2010. So please keep your emotions under control please!
LMAO since 2010, that was so long ago! Haha

WP7 keyboard >>>>>>> WP8 keyboard. my typing speed has decreased significantly. I'm assuming this is due to the increased DPI.

Also, WP8 is in serious need of a PDF viewer/editor.
I agree on both , the keyboard seems much slower. And not only a new editor, but the PDF viewer absolutely sucks, even compared to wp7.

lol 2010 reference was the windows phone reference when it launched. So yes I was one of the few million users who used the first build of windows phone 7 before nodo!
