Forcing Mango without the Internet Connection trick?

Hey Guys,
Is there any way to update to Mango/force the mango update apart from using the trick with the internet connection in Zune? A friend wants to upgrade to mango, but doesn't really know how to so I am trying to do it over the internet (via teamviewer) for her HTC HD7 (Telstra Australia) and as teamviewer needs online access, we can't really turn off the internet connection. Any ideas?

Not that I know of. The Internet Connection tricks works really well - But for me it only worked with my Wireless Connection, I had no luck by unplugging the wire. But as soon as I tried it over my WLAN USB Stick, it worked when I unplugged it.

Only other possible solution would be to have two computers. One to support him via, the other one to update the phone.

Funny, I tried/failed like 20 times on wireless. Worked first try on Ethernet.
