Yeah, seems Microsoft's cloud focus is perfectly exemplified by Panos leaving. Still sad about this and my loyalty to MS has never recovered following his departure. My brand impression of MS has shifted from innovative in ways that benefit customers with the most functional and efficient UI designs (not as beautiful as Apple's but far more functional) and iterating relentlessly until they get things to work (that part died with Windows Phone) to a company that makes some smart bets but primarily in SaaS and IaaS areas with no concern for or even interest in the end-users.
