My biggest complaint with Windows Phone has been the music player. The feature set unfortunately just isn't robust enough to do all the things I want it to while doing a lot of things I don't need it to.
By sacrificing storing music in the built in music library (which lets you integrate with other apps, stream from OneDrive*, use your XBox Music subscription... and some other things that I never use) for storing music within the app (through a wireless sync process or downloading from OneDrive), my app lets you construct playlists on the fly (including smart playlists), edit song names/details, update album art, rate songs, scrobble to last.fm, queue songs for later, reorder your play queue... plus if there are other high demand features it hopefully won't be too hard to add them.
*could probably add support for this later
I made this app because I wanted a better music experience on my phone, but I also figured why not publish it in case others want to give it a try so I'm releasing it for free with no ads. Would love to get some other users feedback regarding the how the UI works / missing features / whatever.
For lack of a better name, the app is called Chime and can be downloaded here
Thanks for giving it a try!
