Friends or family with WP

How many people in your "real" life have a Windows Phone other than you? I have one coworker currently using a WP and one that was but went back to Android. That's about it. No family at all. They're mostly iOS with a few Androids. How about you?

Ha. Well i was a windows 8 student ambassador last year and it turns out i was pretty good! Because my mum has a lumia 520, my dad has a lumia 820, sister has htc 8x. And then i have a friend with a lumia 920, two friends with lumia 820's, one with a lumia 800 and some poor person has a lumia 710.

I have a friend that had a Windows Phone 8 device, but I think he switched to iPhone, cause he got a job at an Apple store. Family members all have iPhones and 2 have Android devices. For work, almost every single co-worker has a Windows Phone, but if you knew what I did, it would make a lot of sense why.

A few of my coworkers have WPs, but I work for a Microsoft partner. My boss, who is a developer & Microsoft MVP, switched to Android. Another coworker says if he used his phone as a smartphone more he'd switch from WP to another platform. Not much loyalty to WP for a Microsoft partner! :unhappy:

I advised one friend an Ativ S which he got. Then I advised my best friend a windows phone and he will get a nokia lumia 625. Btw i have an Ativ S, sorry for my english, im from the netherlands

I've only had my Lumia 920 a few days but after showing it to friends and family over the weekend my dad has ordered a Lumia 620 for himself and the wife now wants me to trade in her iPhone 4s for either a 920 or 925.

Shame i'm not on commission from Microsoft

I've converted a number of people. Lots of family, and some friends. Even a couple apple fanatics, which REALLY surprised me. I have spare phones laying around so I let people take them for test runs. I tell ya, once they use it for a while and REALLY get to know windows phone, just about everybody converts. The ONE thing that has prevented the loaners from converting is heavy iMessage users. Despite liking WP8 and the phones themselves, their friends and family won't stop sending them iMessages, and if you are not using an iphone, you just plain don't get their messages. Those people said if their friends could get it through their skulls to send sms or Whatsapp instead of iMessages, then they would have converted.

I have a friend at uni with a Samsung WP7 (not sure what model it is). Another friend had a Lumia 800 but recently switched to iOS.

I am a lone WP Wolf except for my 2 kids. That is okay- I get lots of attention, and I am in the "building interest" portion of my 5-year WP growth plan.

Much like MS itself, the one thing I have is patience.

They do make a few more bucks then I do in Redmond, though.
