geotags not staying with photos

I have a Nokia 822. When I delete photos on my phone, it appears that the geotags for those photos shift to subsequent photos. So if I took a photo of X at place X and photo of Y at place Y and then I delete photo of X, photo Y will now have geotag for place X (when I view these on Picasa for example). Does anyone else have this problem or know how to keep it from happening. As I said, I use Picasa to manage the photos and this does not happen if I upload the photos and delete the ones I don't want on my PC, but I don't always want to do that.
