Glance/lockscreen notification counter for the wpc app does not work, why?

So I put the WPC app in one of my lockscreen slots so it can show me when there are new articles, also it's enabled in the list of background tasks, but it still doesn't show me anything, what's up with that?

Do I really have to enable the lockscreen background to also get the little notifications at the bottom?? I don't want the wpc lockscreen, I just want the notifications....

Have you gone into the WPCentral app settings and enabled lockscreen? It doesn't show up for me, since I don't have it enabled. But these screenshots show where to change it.

yeah I noticed that option but the thing is, I don't want the wpc lockscreen background, I just want the notifications...

For just notifications you must be using either the wpcentral flip tile with plain count, or the iconic tile. Sorry but using our custom one there's no way to get the number to the front screen
