Glance (peek) with 1520

Don't you find Glance to be awkward to use with a big phone like 1520? If you were to set Glance to peek, it would always turn on whenever you bring out your phones from your pockets since your hand will be covering the front screen. )

I like it, but I also use a flip cover on mine. I open the flip and see the time and if I have any messages...

I prefer peak as it may just show if I've missed any notifications but then again I use the flip cover so most of the time my phone screen is covered.

I use a flip cover and have Glance set to Peek. Works great for me.

For those with covers, you do realize that if you leave it on all the time, it will automatically shut off when you close the cover, right?

Glance utilizes the proximity sensor and will shut off when covered in in your pocket for example.

nope, cover the top of the phone with a paper and you will see glance turn off, remove the paper and glance turn on.

Yep, comes on when I open the cover.... Mine is set to always on....

I charge every night ... but my battery is always over 50 %, when I put it to charger ...

Glance - always on ... and glance background has a pic too ...
Double tap - always on ... and touch sensitivity high ...
Sunlight readability always on ...
Data - always on
WLAN (wi-fi) - always on
Location (gps) - always on
fb chat (integrated) - always on and I use every day ...
fb beta app - always on and I use every day (message notifications disabled from settings) ...
wechat - always on and I use every day ...
viber - always on and I use every day ...
skype - always on, but I do not use often ...

I didn't find peek activation an issue. Had to be quite accurate with a gesture over the phone.

Unfortunately it seems to have stopped working since the update last week.

You have to open the app after the update, it will prompt you for a restart. Restart, then verify your Glance settings, setup your new Glance text, if you want it, or have the option. ( My wife's 820 does not have Glance Screen Text option)

What text do you use with Glance? I guess some folks might want to put their favorite quote or name or something, but I couldn't think of anything I would want to see all the time. I guess if I was more with it I might update it every day with some sort of inspirational quote, but I'm too lazy...:winktongue:

I use Lock Screen Text app for my return to... Contact info.

Glance Screen Text only allows 1 line.
That quote in large text fits perfectly.
They didn't give much room.
When I tried my return info, it didn't have room to finish my name after "return to:"
