Same here. The options for notifications are there, but it doesn't work. The manual shows the notifications and live tiles in action, however.

You have to have your IT Good Admin enter a new line of code into the registry and re boot the server.

According to the PDF linked above, it's listed under the "Known issues in this release":

Email: Attachment file support is limited to png, gif, and jpg files. Office and PDF file types are not supported.

Hopefully it'll be fixed in a future update.
