Here drive+ looking for gps takes forever to find my location. I've waited for about 10 mins. For it to finish with no success. I reinstalled all here apps. I also restarted my phone several times. Anyone who has the same problem and found a fix, please help me. Thanks

Yes, I was in a train and used here drive+. It was not able to find my location. I was nearly lost because I'm not familiar with the place.

Make sure you are not in airplane mode. Or have WiFi switched off. Have all radios on, reboot the phone and then try.

Using GPS in a new place on a moving train will behave like you posted. It is called a cold fix and almost impossible while you are moving fast. A cold fix (fresh in a new place that was far away from your last place) always requires a longer time for this first fix. Even longer if you don't have any data connection to help speed it up. Once it got the fix, the geo info is cached and the next fix will be faster.

GPS on my Lumia with and without amber was always weak compared to my low fi Android phone. I don't understand why.

There are refresh rates to calculating locations reading, for example the garmin gps can give accurate position even in fast car or light aircrafts by using faster refresh rates. Smartphones have slower refresh rates to save batt.

But I thought I can you use it properly while I'm offline. :/ anyways, thank you! Maybe next time, I would turn the data connection on.

You have to download the map to use it offline.

A cold fix (like I mentioned above) without data connection can take couple minutes long if you are stationary and with clear view of sky. If you are moving in a car or train, it is almost impossible. A cold fix with data connection to help speed up can still take up to a minute or two if you are stationary.

Data connection helps phone to download almanac information to help speed up this process. This has nothing to do with map data.
