Green Screen When turning on camera

It has happened on my Lumia 920 with the Amazon app AND now the PackageTracker app - so its either bad developers OR its the API to the camera MS exposes to the developer (this is where I think the error is).

This just happened to me for the first time today. It's definitely related amazon app for me. I used the scan feature in the morning, backed all the way out of the app, then when I went to turn on the camera a couple of hours later it was green. At this point I had no idea it was related to the bar code scanner but tonight I scanned something I got for Christmas. Then I went to scan something else right after and when I tried to activate the scanner it went green. I restarted the phone and it fixed it then I tried to scan with the app again and again it happened. That's when I started to search to see if anyone else has had the issue and found a Msoft Answers question about it which referenced this thread. Are you guys still experiencing it? Has anyone who got the Portico update seen this fixed?

I've had this happen to me several times while using the amazon app. However it hasn't happened to me since the Portico update... keeping my fingers crossed..

This happens to me when I use the Amazon app and use it to scan barcodes. I am on the newest phone update. A reboot of the phone fixes it.

I have also had the amazon app break the phone's "back" button. Again, only a reboot will fix it.

this just happened to me, and i didn't use the amazon app. i was taking photos with backlight mode a few hours earlier, and didn't use the camera or bing scanner until a while ago when i wanted to take another picture indoors. and it was just green. restarted the phone and it's fine now. hopefully it won't happen again. but seeing so many people experiencing it, i'm kinda worried...

I just had this happen today...I just restarted...works fine. I first came across this issue when using photobeamer...but everything seems fine now.

Thanks for the thread. Happened to me tonight for the first time. Had a momentary freak-out, but a restart solved it. Like a lot of you, I believe the Amazon app is the culprit.

I seem to get it too with the Amazon app...

Actually happened with AT&T's Code Scanner just now.

happened to me, was having it turn on in a dark room with the laptop screen lighting up the whole place. Had it facing pure dark while playing with the settings. I have non of the above app turn on, so my guess is the dark screw up the app while I playing with the settings.

It's a software conflict that boogers up the camera initialization. I get it on occasion after running Soviet Kam. Turning the phone on/off clears it.

I've only had the Lumia 822 about 10 days or so and it happened to me today. I was trying out Key Ring app and trying to scan barcodes on cards. Got a couple of codes read and then the app acted crazy and the camera had a green screen. Off/On reset things. It then happened every other read or so on a barcode scan with the Key Ring app. I have been able to scan QR's and barcodes using Bing previous to this a few times. Hope a permanent fix is found.

Had this for the first time today. A reboot fixed it.

as there aren't many posts about it it can't be a common problem.

I thought I was the only one!! I think some scanner causes this problem. I've had it twice and a simple reset fixed it both times.

Happend to me few minutes ago. I never used amazon app. However, some hours ago I have been using one new app that was scanning QR code.

just got my lumia a week ago and i installed the amazon app and this started happening all the time.... glad I searched here, I was freaking out a bit.

I used to get green color screens in my camera as well but only on those days when I used the photosynth app.Fortunately it did come to an end after the last update of photosynth.
