Groupme runs on AMAZON WEB SERVICES?!!

Okay I just read an article on The Next Web that since amazon web services were down, a host of services like Netflix, Reddit, Groupme, etc were down. Doesn't MS own groupme, so this wouldn't make sense that they didnt shift its service to Azure.

A lot of things don't make sense, like the Windows Phone app not being so great/equal relatively speaking.

I get the app situation but the service, that is the only thing MS seem to care these days, so this is a bit surprising.
