If hard reset resets all settings incl. registery files, is unbranded condition continues after reset?

It seems that you've changed the model number/operator name of registery to pretend unbranded one.
But if resetting wipes them too, is it still unbranded? Or reverted id to stock and has only unbranded firmware?

And I wonder what will happen if I restore the device using Microsoft WP restore tool after do this.

Anyway, thanks a lot. You helped me. My phone finally got update 2 thanks to you.

The phone cannot be restored to stock using WP Recovery Tool. The hard reset doesn't re-brand the device, only wipes off all user data and restores to ROM defaults

Many thanks for this guide. Great!
What is the difference between "RM-824_lta_lta1_237" and "RM-824_lta_lta1_223"? I have L820 AT&T (RM-824) and I need to change it to the fw "059R8N0 RM-824 VAR AMERICA LTA1 CO&EC CV". What is the best way to reflash?

Applying the rom I'd suggest Windows phone image designer. To flash the original rom needed for a clean install and the very very start step (phone prep) I used Windows Phone recovery tool. Two brilliant pc programs.

Thanks for reply. My question is, what is the difference in the result after de-branding process with "PhoneManufacturerModelName >> RM-824_lta_lta1_223" and "***lta1_237" as described above.

Thank you for such guide.
Is any information about flashing RM-825 firmware to RM-824 att phone?
I've checked the ROM-file of the 059M0F3 RM-824 NDT AMERICA US ATT and compaired it to the 059R2L2 RM-825 VAR EU UA CV firmware.

Both contain:

PhoneHardwareRevision 1.0.0.0
[PhoneSOCVersion] 8960

I'd like to try change the registry according to the new FW:

PhoneMobileOperatorName >> 000-UA
PhoneManufacturerModelName >> RM-825_eu_ukraine_286

Does anybody know if this is completely impossible and I'll got a brick? Or there is a chance to flash the listed above FW.
Thanks in advance.

The first one would give you the unbranded firmware for Mexico, the second one for Columbia and Ecuador

It might not work, it won't brick your phone but error out saying cannot open update. You'll have to hard reset in that case. Why not unbrand to one of the above listed firmware instead?

Thank you for reply. I'm not sure the RM-824_lta_lta1 FW contains ukrainian interface language. Or even ukr spelling dictionary.

The main thing I'm worried about the new ukr firmware is difference between the RM-824 and RM-825 models. In case I'll be able to get the update after the registry editing but the won't run after (because of the RM-824 and RM-825 difference). Is there any incompatibility between the RM-824 hardware and RM-825 firmware

Thanks

It might not contain the specific language but you can always download it can't you?
Actually I'm not sure. The original ATT firmware doesn't allow to download and install ukr interface language. It allows set the ukr regional settings and add the ukr keyboard only but not interface.

For Lumia 635: (AT&T Nokia Lumia 635 >> Nokia Lumia 635 US Country Variant Denim ROM)

PhoneMobileOperatorName >> 000-US >> Write

PhoneManufacturerModelName >> RM-975_1043 >> Write

if I change to any RM-974 ? will it work ?
