Have used the other method which is cumbersome. Since the core is to change the three registry keys to get the update2, this method will work also.

I cannot register as dev as phone is not connecting.. It says make sure that WP IP over USB transport service is running.. What do i do?

Use Root Tool. it does not need you to register as windows phone developer. Once the app is installed, follow from here....


1) Edit Registry:
** Note down the registry keys before editing them. To avoid resetting, revert back to default registry entries and skip 4) **

PhoneMobileOperatorName >> 000-88 >> Write
PhoneManufacturerModelName >> WinWin >> Write
PhoneManufacturer >> HIGHSCREEN >> Write

2) Settings >> phone update >> check for updates >> Install Updates >> Done

3 Reset after updates are installed >>
4) Hard reset (wipe) and start as fresh

I opened the app and click on Lumia registry editor but the app crashed

The app will crash becooz u installed in the phone memory and exceuted it.
Go like this.
Uninstall the app completely.

Back up your SD card. Put in memory card reader and delete the WPsystem folder.

then follow this..
1, Install "Root Tool" from here... https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/s...b-fec50195aa1e
2, Dont run it yet.
3, Move it to SD card.
4, Put the SD card in the memory card reader and go to WPsystem folder
5,Delete the following two files from the installation path.. sdcard\wpsystem\apps\f4acc009-ea1e-4063-9bab-fec50195aa1e> install\ mdilfilelist.xml and wmappmanifest.xml
6, Move all the files under folder HACK to installation path.. sdcard\wpsystem\apps\f4acc009-ea1e-4063-9bab-fec50195aa1e> install
7, Move the app back to phone memory.
8 Run the Root Tool app and start the registry editor.

f*** me sideways!!! i've tried everything, i mean EVERYTHING, from windows insider way to product code change and nothing worked. I've even tried this CustomWPSystem way, but seems to me that I was doing it the wrong way (thru windows insider).
now, thanks to pankaj981, i've got update 2 again. thank you, sir!
