Hard reset VS Windows phone recovery tool

Hello All, I was running Lumia 920 on 8.1 and trying upgrading to 10 preview. Due to insufficient battery upgrade did not happen and its running in loop. What is best way to make it live again?
Windows phone recovery tool or hard reset?

Hard reset would try first, if that does't work WPRT is second option
