I want to do a restore but I don't want to lose the hours....and hours..... and hours that I spend playing Asphalt 7 (was number 1 in the world for several weeks on one track) and Drift Mania. Grrrr.

Drift Mania you will lose your saved data, but Asphault 7 is saved in the cloud.

There are 2 types of reset you can do with your phone. Soft reset is where you press the Volume Down + Power button and hold them in for about 15 seconds or until the phone vibrates. The other type of reset is done through the menu's of the phone, called a Hard Reset. If it takes over about 30-40 minutes of gears spinning (say about an hour to be safe) the chances are your phone is stuck. There comes a point where you will have to try something else or it will remain that way until battery flattens, such as press and hold the power button and volume down button for about 10 seconds

You could also try:-

  1. Turn off your device
  2. Plug in wall charger for 1hr
  3. Turn on without your sim card inserted
You might like to look at this resource if that doesn't work (from a thread stickied at the top of this forum) http://forums.windowscentral.com/no...after-reset-flash-process-defined-inside.html or look through http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/product/lumia920/troubleshooting/

Hope that helps!

This is good news, do I need to do anything special to make sure Asphalt's game is saved on cloud?

Just go to Asphalt tracker and it will import your profile. Didn't know this myself until I read this thread and it worked. Nice job, Gameloft.
