Having trouble transferring contacts and data from Nokia 920 to Lumia 950

Bought AT&T version of Lumia 950 from MS store on line. Took it to AT&T local store and they did the account transfer work. On AT&T website, they indicated that a "transfer" app could be downloaded to the old and new phones. The download for the old phone(920) worked fine. However, download for the new phone(950) would not complete. So, I tried the alternate method of getting the transfer app. This involved texting "transfer" to 6565. This procedure informed me that the transfer program did not support the new phone. Any ideas on how to get this data transferred?

Contacts are normally saved to your Microsoft account. So when you sign into the new phone using the same Microsoft account, contacts should be synced.

As for photos, SMS and apps, to settings and backup them. Then on your new phone just restore from the backup.
